FCW's Martinez Plays Key Role in Puerto Rican National Team Victory In World Cup Qualfier

Bayamon, Puerto Rico -- FC Westchester alum and Hofstra University defender Richard Martinez played the entire 90 minutes to help Puerto Rico earn a 2-2 tie with Honduras on Saturday evening in a World Cup qualifier in front of 8,000 fans at Bayamon Stadium Saturday night.

Despite the tie, Puerto Rico was eliminated from World Cup qualifying as Honduras advanced to the CONCACAF semifinal round in the total-goals series, outscoring its foes, 6-2. 

Martinez, who played for the FCW '88s, helped set up Puerto Rico's first goal with a run out of the back, according to BigAppleSoccer.com
