FC Westchester alum Richard Martinez - who played for the FCW ’88 Boys and then was an all-conference performer at Hofstra University -- helped his Puerto Rico Islanders team win the USSF Division 2 Pro League championship.

The Islanders, who came into the playoffs as the No. 8 (and last) seed, won the USSF Division 2 Pro League title this past Saturday, tying the Carolina Rail Hawks 1-1 and taking the series 3-1 on aggregate. Martinez played 90 minutes in each leg of the home and away final on the Islander’s backline.
