FCW's Cabrera Goes to Germany With Super Y League National Team
Brian Cabrera of the FC Westchester ’91 Boys Under 15 team spent 11 days in Germany as part of the Super Y League Under 15 National Select Team, competing against top level German youth teams. The Under 15 Super Y League team played its first International Friendly against Eintracht Frankfurt, then was to compete four friendlies in five days against: Kickers Offenbach, a Bavarian ODP side, SC Freiburg, and Baden ’89 ODP.
The squad then participated in a one-day Reichenbach tournament. The competition consisted of TSG Backnang, VFL Kirchheim, VFB Reichenbach, and SV Stuttgart Kickers. The team’s last taste of Germany was to be a final International Friendly with Karlsrusher SC.
Cabrera was selected for the trip based on his performance at the Super Y League National ODP camp held last January in Cocoa Beach, FL.
